The location is wonderful, the food outstanding, and the riding awesome. The hospitality was as if we were staying with good friends. We chose the Diamond L because we wanted "real" riding, and that is what we got. They carefully selected horses to match the riders and then took us on the kinds of rides we wanted---challenging, scenic, through many different types of terrain and always with lots of information about the history and geography of the area. Our week at the Diamond L was outstanding in all ways. There is nothing I would change.

What do you get when you add together exquisite scenery, great horse-riding adventures, immaculate accommodations, scrumptious home-style meals, and super friendly people who treat you like part of their family? The answer is you get a great vacation at the Diamond L Guest Ranch. My family and I just returned from spending a week with the Luther family and friends and we are going through withdrawal. Every morning the first week back we woke up thinking about what was happening at the ranch and wishing we were still there. The fun, the food, and the people are addictive. I know we'll be back!

Beautiful secenery. Super-friendly, kind hosts, willing to help riders of all levels of ability. Excellent horses which we were allowed to tack and groom (and give the required daily smooch). Great trails of varying difficulty. Cute farm animals to pet. Good food and quarters. I wanted a riding vacation, and this was perfect in every aspect. For my first attempt at a guest ranch, I don't think I could have picked a better place.

Diamond L Ranch is an incredibly beautiful place to spend your holidays. On the rides through the Black Hills National Forest we've seen plenty of deer, porcupines, big birds, all kinds of animals. Breathtaking views! For someone who is used to hectic and noisy city life there is a DANGEROUS aspect: you probably don't want to LEAVE this place of integrity anymore... It was certainly worth it to come all the way from Europe and you sure bet I'll return...

I've been to the Diamond L for three years now, and can honestly say I'd choose them again and again. From the excellent riding program (and exquisite care of the horses) to the home-cooked food, I doubt you'd find a better guest ranch anywhere. The scenery is stupendous and the Luther family makes everyone feel welcome. It's an amazing place. Try it once and you'll be returning every year like me!
